Q. I am in my late 20’s and my sibling is in their early teens; are these ages appropriate for the program?
A. Absolutely, we have several people in those age ranges. We break all participants into small groups of 8 to 10 according to their ages. The entire experience is with a group of friends your own age. The participants you sit with in addition to the people in your small groups are all in the same age range as yourself. In the past, we have had participants as young as 13 and as old as 31.
Q. Do you have discounted rooms for the workshops?
A. Yes we do; when you call either one of the hotels, just let them know that you are attending a Mercer workshop and you would like to exercise their room discount.
Q. What is the schedule of the program once I arrive?
A. To view the schedule, go to http://www.youngandmotivated.com/schedule. On this page, you will find both a general schedule and a detailed schedule pertaining to each individual program.
Q. When do I need to register by?
A. Young & Motivated has sold out every year. It is highly recommended that you sign up as soon as possible to avoid being put on the wait list. We suggest that you coordinate your schedule with the workshop dates as soon as you can.
Q. How big are the classes?
A. Each class consists of 150 people. In order to keep the atmosphere more intimate, we break all participants into groups of 8 to 10 according to their ages. Each group gets assigned a community leader to mentor them through the weekend.
Q. I noticed from the agenda that we get the opportunity to meet mentors throughout the weekend, who are these mentors?
A. We have several mentors whose expertise ranges from various industries. Entrepreneurs such as Fred Joyal from 1-800-DENTIST, in addition to Minaz Abji, an Executive VP of Marriott Host International are examples of these mentors. We have also had mentors with careers in creative writing, financial planning, advertising, public relations, law, medicine, politics, and business. For more information click here
