IS Y&M RIGHT FOR ME?
Q. Is Y&M for me? What do past Y&M graduates think of the program?

Q. Am I too old to Attend Y&M? Am I too young? Will I meet other people in my age range?
A. Your entire Y&M experience will be with a group of new friends close to your own age. In the past, we have had participants ranging from ages 16 to 25+.
Q. Will my parent/guardian be attending the Y&M sessions with me?
A. No. However, all participants must sign and return the Consent Form upon registration.
THE Y&M EXPERIENCE
Q. What is the schedule once I arrive?
A. To view the complete schedule visit the event page. On this page, you will find both a general schedule and a detailed agenda for each individual program.
Q. How big are the classes?
A. Each class consists of 150 people. In order to keep the atmosphere more intimate, we divide all participants into groups of eight to 10, according to their ages. Each group is assigned a community leader to mentor them through the weekend.
Q. Will I get any one-on-one time with the Y&M group leaders?
A. Group leaders are always available after sessions and during breaks to answer your questions and provide guidance.
Q. I noticed from the agenda that we get the opportunity to meet mentors throughout the weekend. Who are these mentors?
A. We have mentors with expertise from a range of industries, including entrepreneurs Fred Joyal from 1-800-DENTIST and Minaz Abji, an executive VP of Marriott Host International. We have also had mentors with careers in creative writing, financial planning, advertising, public relations, law, medicine, politics and business. For more information click here.
REGISTRATION
Q. When do I need to register?
A. Young&Motivated has sold out every year. It is highly recommended that you sign up as soon as possible to avoid being put on the wait list. We suggest that you coordinate your schedule with the workshop dates as soon as you can.
Q. What do I do after I register other than arranging my travel?
A. Be sure to fill out and send us your Y&M Profile and Consent Forms. It only takes a few minutes to complete.
TRAVEL
Q. Do you have discounted accommodations for workshop attendees?
A. Yes. When you call the Scottsdale Fairmont Hotel, let them know that you are attending a Spear Education workshop and that you would like to take advantage of their preferred room discount.
Q. What’s the weather like in Scottsdale when I’m attending? What should I pack?
A. Daytime temps in Scottsdale are in the 90s-low 100s; evenings are generally in the upper 70s-80s. Dress is casual for the program. and graduation. Our session rooms tend to be cool, so it’s a good idea to bring a light sweater or jacket with you.
Q. Do I need to bring anything with me to Y&M?
A. Just bring yourself and an open mind, and be ready to learn and change your life!
